Losing a tooth can be a traumatic experience that has a significant impact on your daily life. At Springfield Hall, our specialist team can restore your smile by replacing any missing teeth with high quality Dental Implants. The treatment is highly effective and the result is a long-lasting solution that is stronger and more durable than other alternative treatments.
The new replacement tooth is made up of two parts. The implant itself is the root section hidden below the gum line. This is made from a special grade of titanium. The visible part of the artificial tooth is the crown. This is fitted to the new implant once it has been successfully embedded in position.
The first step is an initial assessment appointment where your dentist will determine whether Dental Implants are the most appropriate treatment for you. We will take x-rays and the process will be explained to you along with the results you can expect to see. You will also have the opportunity to ask questions and raise any areas of concern you may have. If dental implants are right for you then we will create detailed treatment plan.
The treatment itself requires several appointments. During the first surgical procedure, the titanium screw is fitted to the jaw. After this new implant has been allowed to successfully fuse with the bone, another appointment is made for the crown (the visible part of the tooth) to be fitted. Once the new tooth is complete we also schedule further appointments to check the area has healed correctly.

Most people find the procedure more comfortable than expected. The area is numbed during treatment, and it’s normal to feel some soreness afterwards, which usually settles over a few days.
As with any procedure, there are risks, including infection, gum problems around the implant (peri-implant disease), and implant failure. A thorough assessment and good aftercare help reduce these risks.
An implant replaces the root and doesn’t rely on neighbouring teeth. A bridge uses adjacent teeth for support. A denture is removable and sits on the gum. The “best” option depends on stability, budget, and oral health.
With good oral hygiene and regular check-ups, implants can last for many years. The crown on top may need replacement earlier due to normal wear, but the implant itself is designed to be long-term.
Smoking and vaping can increase the risk of complications and implant failure because healing can be affected. It doesn’t always rule implants out, but your dentist may recommend stopping (or reducing) before and after treatment.
